"Giuseppe Pellizzi Prize 2024": the three finalists!
The "Club of Bologna" is pleased to annunce that the finalist of the "Giuseppe Pellizzi Prize 2024" are (
alphabetical order):
- Dr. Zixuan He (USA) - Efforts towards effective robotic strawberry harvesting
- Dr. Xin Tian (USA) - Methods to reduce energy consumption in the hydraulic system toward the next generation of green, high-efficient agricultural tractors
- Dr. Lu Xun (CHI) - Towards a sustainable use of plant protection products in orchards: implementation of canopy-adapted spray technology and new developments for spray efficiency evaluation.
The ranking will be officially announced during the “Award Ceremony” (scheduled on Sunday 10, November 2024, during the 33rd CoB Members' Meeting, EIMA International 6-10 November, Bologna, Italy). Each finalist will present her/his PhD thesis during the Award ceremony.
To the outstanding finalists, the warmest congratulations from all the Evaluation Panel, composed by the Members of the "Club of Bologna" Management Committee and a memberof the Academy of the Georgofili of Florence.

Management Committee (MC): no variation inside the Members. Current President and MC Members will end their mandate on November 2024. According to CoB "Internal Rules" (art. 9, 11), Federunacoma will nominate the new MC Members and the CoB President. The list of future MC members has been discussed and will be made official at the next 33rd CoB Members' Meeting.

Full Members (FM): n.3 new FM were admitted to CoB (Patricia Chueca, Spain; Stefano Fiorati, CNH; Patrick Pagani, COPA-COGEGA). Congratulation to all the new FM! ...and good work inside the club!

- 33rd Members' meeting (Bologna, Italy, 9-10 November 2024, during "EIMA International". The provisional Agenda and the invited Speakers have been approved. The Pellizzi Prize Winners 2020 Hao Gan (USA) and Xin Zhangh (USA), togheter with the Full Member Marco Grella were requested to act as Sessions' Rapporteurs

Pellizzi Prize 2024: n.12 Ph.D. (from USA, China, Italy, India, Australia) applied to the the V edition of the prize. The three finalist have been selected by the Evaluation Panel. Award Ceremony is scheduled on Sunday 10th November 2024 during 33rd CoB Memebers' Meeting.

The deadline (31 May 2024) for the submission of applications has expired and the applicants for the 5th edition of the prize are twelve:

The
Abstracts of their PhD theses are online at the section "Pellizzi Prize, Previuos Editions, year 2024". By next
30 July, the winners will be announced.
During the Award Ceremony (10 November 20, Bologna, EIMA International, in occasion of 33rd CoB Members' Meeting, 9-10 November 2024) a brief presentation of the thesis will be given by the Winners.
